3 months--Perfect Vision

I had my PRK surgery three months ago, and I can say without hesitation that my vision is perfect. It seems better, even, than it did with contacts or glasses. My eyes don't get tired from looking at the computer or TV, my vision doesn't fluctuate, I'm not sensitive to light, I don't see halos or get double vision. It's perfect. Yayyy! My only "complaint" (I place complaint in quotes because it's so minor) is that I probably have a day every week or so during which my eyes are quite dry, and the dryness causes some bluriness, and is just uncomfortable and annoying. I am not sure how much of this is attributable to surgery and how much is just normal reactions to allergens, weather conditions, etc. So to anyone reading this blog, I hope you look at my earlier posts and are encouraged! Any early pain, discomfort, and fluctuation will get better and will all be worth it!!!!

  1. I did enjoy your blog and thank you for it. I plan on getting laser vision correction and have been told by the eye doctor that my cornea tissue is too think for LASIK procedure that has the flap. I have a few questions for you. Do you exercise? If so, how long did you wait before working out again after surgery? I exercise regularly and wonder how sweating would affect post surgery eyes. Lastly, where did you get your surgery done? I know you live in DC and I live MD, I may consider the same place you went due to you great results. You can email you comments at babs4life@hotmail.com, thanks.

  3. Thanks for taking the time to write this blog. I am scheduled to have my surgery in a few weeks and it really helped to read about someones personal experience. I would also like to know about exercising and if/ how that was effected.

  4. I'm glad the blog has been useful. I didn't exercise for a couple weeks afterwards and was pretty paranoid about getting water in my eyes for a month or two, so I didn't do anything that would get me especially sweaty. That said, the doctors by no means suggested that was necessary, and I was out of goggles for sleep in less than a week.
